Hello my friend,
What is the secret of success?
Silly question, right...?
Those of us who have studied the success principles know that there are several ideas, actions, beliefs and attitudes that allow a person to create, achieve or attract success.
Depending on who you ask, they might say the key thing is to have a goal; to be motivated; to have a vision; to work on your self esteem, to develop persistence; to have a “can do” attitude; to develop empowering beliefs; to let go of the past; to develop a compelling vision of your future; .... the list goes on.
In actual fact, all these things are factors in your success. They are all important. The lack of any one of them might spell disaster for your plans to achieve the success you want. In fact, you really need to develop an ability to develop and use all of them. The trick is to know what is the most important thing to apply NOW when you need it.
At any point in time, we are somewhere and unless everything is absolutely perfect in every area of our lives, we want to change something. We either want MORE of something or LESS of something. To some degree, we want to be somewhere else.
In other words, we are always at point A and we want to be at point B.
A little time ago I created a video called, “How to Achieve Any Goal”. If you missed it, here’s a link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C62kZn4KUKY&feature=plcp
The video reveals the universal formula for achieving any goal. I owe this to Anthony Robbins.
Here’s the thing.... in the video I detail the four steps to achieving any goal.... ANY GOAL! This video shows that there are really several pieces that need to be in place for us to be successful... to have a goal; to have a plan; to take steps toward that goal; to constantly re-assess our goal, plan, steps and results... and to continually be ready to make the necessary changes to any one of them.
But if you are sharp, you will see that it all comes down to one KEY THING... the ability to take a step, and this is the thing that stops people. Maybe it’s stopping you too.
Here’s what I mean...
If you are a smoker trying to quit, your one key thing might be to be able to summon enough motivation to say NO when you are facing an urge for a cigarette.
If you are in sales, your one key thing might be to be able to pick up the phone and make one more call to a new prospect and ask for an appointment.
If you are in a relationship, your one key thing might be to be able to stop reacting with anger when your partner comes at you with that ATTITUDE... you know what I mean?
For any of us, in any situation, we are at POINT A and we need to figure out how to get to POINT B.
And the answer is always the same: Identify the goal; create a plan; figure out what the next step is... then figure out the ONE KEY THING that will empower us to take that step... and to keep taking steps.... until we have arrived at the goal we seek.
If you can identify your ONE KEY THING you will be able to maintain the goals process until you have arrived.
So ask yourself right now: What is my goal? ; What is my plan?; What step do I need to take? and ... What is the ONE KEY THING that will empower me to take that step?
Do this and your life will change for the better.
